We often understand ourselves through our names, memories, experiences, beliefs, and thoughts. Yet all of these are constantly changing.

If everything we identify as “I” is subject to change, then what is it that remains?

Tat Tvam Asi — “You are That” — is one of the great contemplative statements of the Upanishadic tradition. It points beyond the identities we construct and toward the deeper question of what we truly are.

This exhibition explores that question through the act of observing.

Rather than trying to control, silence, or escape thought, what happens when we simply become aware of the mechanism of thought itself? What remains when we step beyond our habitual interpretations and return to direct experience—to seeing, hearing, sensing, and simply being present?

The works in this exhibition are an exploration of that space between perception and awareness, between the observer and the observed, between the “I” and what lies beyond it.

The exhibition does not attempt to provide an answer.

Instead, it offers a space to pause, observe, and encounter the question for oneself.
