About Reservations

When do you start taking reservations?

A:We accept reservations about 6 months in advance via the Internet. Check our website and social media pages for more information on when reservations open.

How can I make a reservation?

A:We accept reservations made through our home page.

Do you have a waiting list?

A:We do not have a waiting list. If another customer cancels their reservation, it will be automatically reflected on our website, so we recommend checking our website regularly for the most up to date information on rooms.

Please tell me about children’s accommodations.

A:Children 5 years old or under may stay for free. While they are not included in the total number of guests, when traveling with children under the age of 5 please indicate their age and the number of children in the “Inquiry/Requests” section.
*We may ask you to confirm the age of your children.

Can minors stay at the hotel alone?

A:If all guests in a reservation are under 20 years of age, we ask that each guest have a parent or guardian submit a “Consent Form” . Please download the consent form from the link below and email it to us in advance or submit it when you check-in. One form must be submitted per minor.

How can I change or cancel my reservation?

A:To cancel or change a reservation made via our home page, please go to “Confirm/Change/Cancel Reservation” at the top page of Online Reservation and follow the procedure. If you wish to cancel or change your reservation, the following cancellation fees will apply.
If you change or cancel your reservation, you will be charged a cancellation fee in accordance with the cancellation policy of the reserved plan.
*If you have made a reservation through a third-party booking site (Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia, Rakuten, Jalan, etc.), please change or cancel your reservation on the My Page of each reservation site. In such cases, cancellation fees will be applied in accordance with the cancellation policy stated on each reservation site.

What is the group reservation policy?

A:The hotel accepts group reservations for reservations of 5 or more rooms.
For group reservations, the following Group Cancellation Policy written below will be applied regardless of the websites where the reservations are made.
- Up to 15 days prior to check-in: No cancellation fee
- 14 days to 8 days prior: 20% of the total room charge
- 7 days to 3 days prior: 50% of the total room charge
- 2 days prior to the day of arrival or no-show: 100% of the total room charge

About check-in and check-out

Please let me know the check-in and check-out times.

A:Check-in time is from 4:00PM to 0:00AM, and check-out time is by 11:00AM.
If your arrival time is after 0:00AM, please contact us in advance.

Is it possible to do Early check-in or Late check-out?

A:【Early check-in】Early check-in is not guaranteed, as it depends on the situation of the day. Please contact us a day before check-in to see if early check-in will be available. Regardless of if your room is ready or not we can keep luggage at the front desk from 8:00 AM onwards.
【Late check-out】Late check-out is available up to 12:00PM for a fee (2,000 yen per hour). Please note that we may not be able to accept this service depending on room availability.

Is the front desk open 24 hours?

A:Front desk staff will be present from 8:00AM to 0:00AM.

How do I get into my room?

A:A touch pad ID and password are used in place of room keys. We will provide you with your ID and password as well as show you how to enter your room upon check-in.

What is the payment method?

A:Payment can be made in advance by credit card or paid upon check-in with either credit card, cash, or PAYPAY. We accept VISA / MASTER / American Express / Diners / JCB / China UnionPay credit cards.
Please confirm the payment methods when making a reservation via a third-party booking site.

What is the Accommodation Tax?

A:An accommodation tax is levied as a non-statutory object tax. Please note that you will be charged an accommodation tax in accordance with Kyoto City law. The Accommodation tax is a tax on the room rate per person per night.
*The room tax is not included in the room charge displayed at the time of reservation. *Please pay it upon arrival.

Can I exchange foreign currency?

A:We are sorry, but we do not accept foreign currencies.

About presenting a passport.

A:According to the laws and regulations set forth by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, “foreigners who do not have a domicile in Japan” are required to present their nationality and passport number in addition to their name, address, occupation, etc., and to show and copy their passports. Even if the person making the reservation has an address in Japan, if his/her companion is a “foreigner without an address in Japan,” he/she is required to present and copy his/her passport as well. U.S. military personnel are required to present and copy their military ID card. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Rooms and Facilities

Is there free WIFI?

A:Free Wi-Fi is available in the hotel.

Are there any smoking rooms or spaces?

A:All rooms in the hotel are non-smoking. We ask that guests who smoke please smoke in the designated space outside of each building. Portable ashtrays are also available to borrow upon check-in. Smoking within the building or in a room will result in a penalty fee of 30,000 yen.

Do you have an extra bed?

A:We do not have extra beds. If the number of guests exceeds 4 (20 PIECES) or 3 (22 PIECES), please use a sofa. An extra futon is provided in each room to be used with the futon.

Can I watch Netflix, etc. in my room?

A:The TV in your room is compatible with Netflix, YouTube, prime video, hulu, AbemaTV, and U-NEXT. Please log in with your own account. In case you forget to log out of your account please rest assured that each TV is reset after check-out.

What kind of amenities are provided?

A:We provide bath towels, face towels, toothbrushes, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and hand soap in each room. Other amenities (hairbrush, hair elastic, shower cap, cotton swab, razor, etc.) are available in the lobby. Please feel free to take them.
*Pajamas are available at the front desk.

What cooking utensils are available?

A:A Toaster, frying pans, pots, pans, knives, cutting boards, tongs, chopsticks, ladles, colanders, bowls and tableware are available. Simple seasonings (salt and pepper, salad oil, soy sauce) are available at the front desk.

What kinds of rental items are available?

A:Coffee drippers, various types of glasses, board games, vinyl records, and a polaroid camera (film available for a fee) are available. We also offer cooking appliances such as hot plates, pots, rice cookers, and hot sandwich makers.

Do you have a parking lot?

A:We do not have a dedicated parking lot, so please use the nearby coin-operated parking lots. We do not offer discounted rates or any other services.

Is the building wheelchair accessible?

A:Neither 20 or 22 PIECES are wheelchair accessible.
We apologize for the inconvenience.

Is there a laundromat?

A:【20 PIECES】We have two washing machines and two dryers available 24 hours a day. The washer is 100 Yen/cycle and detergent is included. The dryer is 100 Yen/10 minutes.
【22 PIECES】Not available inside the hotel. There is a laundromat only a minute’s walk from the hotel.

Is there a curfew?

A:The entrance is locked after 11:00PM, but you can enter after 11:00PM with the same ID and password set at check-in.

About Services

Is it possible to leave my luggage before check-in / after check-out?

A:You can leave your luggage free of charge before check-in and after check-out, during the front desk hours (8:00AM - 0:00AM) on the same day.

Can I send a parcel or suitcase by courier in advance?

A:We can receive luggage and parcels two days prior to your arrival. Please indicate the check-in date and the name of the person who made the reservation (the guest) on the luggage slip.
*Please inform us in advance that you will be sending your luggage.
*We do not accept cash on delivery.
*If your luggage is too large (bigger than a suitcase), we may not be able to accept it due to lack of storage space. Please consult us in advance.
*All luggage and parcels will be kept at the front desk. Luggage and parcels will only be moved to your room if your room is ready before check-in.

Do you have breakfast and room service?

A:While we do not offer breakfast or room service, we offer a selection of food and drink produced by popular Kyoto small businesses for purchase.
For the AMACO Bread and Coffee plan, please contact us 3 days prior to when you would like the plan to be ready.
For the Masuya Sake and Snack sampler plan or the On the Slope seasonal vegetable plan, please place your order via our homepage underneath the “plans” section in reservations.
All of the rooms also have kitchens with a variety of cooking utensils for if guests would like to prepare their own meals.

Can I reserve rental items in advance?

A: It is possible to reserve rental items in advance. Advance reservation is limited to 2 items per category (Cooking, Electronics, Play, Other) and on availability.

Can non-guests use the rooms?

A:We do not allow non-guests to enter the rooms.
Please use the lobby (8:00AM - 11:00PM).

About the cleaning service.

A:During your stay, we can change towels and collect garbage at anytime.
Bed making and room cleaning services are provided only for those who are staying for 3 nights or more. For those staying over 3 nights who would like bed making and room cleaning, please let us know at the front desk by noon the day before.

Can you make restaurant reservations or arrange for a birthday cake?

A:We can make restaurant reservations during your stay.
Please note that we do not accept reservations on the day of check-out.
We will also do our best to assist you with a celebration cake or surprise.
